So, you've seen the front page, you've seen a few photos, now you want to know more. Well, here it is, the full lowdown on Jitsu, what it is, how it came to be, how it works, etc.
Straight from the Jitsu Foundation website, Jitsu is...
"a martial art based on the traditional styles of Jiu Jitsu that originated and developed in medieval Japan. The core of the art comprises a system of throws, joint locks and strikes. Based on the principal of using an aggressor's energy to their own disadvantage"On top of all this Jitsu is a very social sport, and the universities' clubs honour that. We have regular socials, individual and joint. Both clubs can be found in a local pub after their sessions and everyone who trains is friendly to new and old members alike.
As with most martial arts, Jitsu works on a grading system. You start as a beginner, and work your way through belts by attending gradings until eventually you obtain the final belt. The belts are as follows:
